Ernie Ball's RPS-8 Extra Slinky wound electric guitar strings are made from nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a tin-plated hex-shaped steel core wire. To strengthen the plain strings, Ernie Ball winds bronze wire at the ball end. This patented method reduces breakage but doesn't change the feel of the strings.
